Description

Arma-Chek Mastic Grey is a specialized adhesive and sealant based on silane-modified polymers, engineered to enhance the durability and integrity of Arma-Chek R covering systems. When applied to glued seams and joints in outdoor settings, it offers an extra layer of robust protection against harsh environmental factors. This mastic is crucial for ensuring the long-term performance of insulation systems protected by Arma-Chek R in industrial, commercial, and infrastructure applications. Gitco-sa.com is your authorized source for Arma-Chek Mastic Grey in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

Designed to withstand extreme conditions, Arma-Chek Mastic Grey boasts excellent UV and weather resistance, ensuring it maintains its protective properties over time, even with prolonged exposure to sunlight and varied climatic conditions. It operates effectively across a wide service temperature range from -40°C (-40°F) to 120°C (248°F). Furthermore, its very low leachable chloride content (≤ 30 ppm) makes it ideal for use in environments where corrosion under insulation (CUI) is a concern, helping to prevent degradation of underlying metal surfaces. Its strong mechanical properties, including good tensile strength and elongation, ensure a flexible yet durable seal.

It is a sealant based on silane-modified polymers.

  4. Is Arma-Chek Mastic Grey suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, it exhibits excellent UV and weathering resistance, making it ideal for outdoor applications.

  5. What is the service temperature range for Arma-Chek Mastic Grey?
The service temperature range is from -40°C to +120°C.

  6. What is the recommended application temperature for Arma-Chek Mastic Grey?
The recommended application temperature (ambient and substrate) is +5°C to +35°C.

  7. Does Arma-Chek Mastic Grey provide additional corrosion mitigation?
Yes, it contributes to corrosion mitigation by ensuring a sealed, vapor-tight system, with very low levels of leachable chlorides (≤ 30 ppm).

  8. Is Arma-Chek Mastic Grey an adhesive for the main insulation material?
No, it is primarily a sealant for the Arma-Chek R covering’s seams and joints, not for bonding the primary insulation (like ArmaFlex) to the substrate or the covering itself directly. ArmaFlex adhesives are used for that.

  9. What color is Arma-Chek Mastic?
It is available in grey (specifically for Arma-Chek R Grey covering) and also a black version for Arma-Chek R Black or Arma-Chek D.

  10. How should joints be prepared before applying Arma-Chek Mastic Grey?
All seams and joints must first be completely sealed with the correct type of ArmaFlex adhesive and securely fixed. They must be clean, dry, and free from contamination.

  11. What is the recommended application thickness for the mastic bead?
All seams and joints should have a minimum thickness of 3 mm and a width of 10 mm mastic “beading” applied.

  12. Does Arma-Chek Mastic Grey cure quickly?
It has an open time of less than 15 minutes and a skin-forming time of less than 13 minutes, with a curing rate of approximately 3 mm after 24 hours (at 23°C and 50% relative humidity).

  13. What are the storage conditions for Arma-Chek Mastic Grey?
It should be stored in cool and dry rooms, with a recommended temperature of 5°C to 30°C. The container should be kept dry and sealed.
